This guide explains how to switch from ParentShield to Talkmobile and keep your mobile number.
Most number transfers complete within 1 to 2 working days once Talkmobile has your PAC code.
If you want a new number instead, text STAC to 75075 and give the code to Talkmobile.
This switch will take you from EE's network to Vodafone's network. Coverage may differ in some areas. Check Talkmobile's coverage checker before switching.

To keep your number, request a PAC code from ParentShield and give it to Talkmobile.
You can usually give Talkmobile your PAC code when you order, or after your new SIM card or eSIM has been activated.
1. Request a PAC code from ParentShield
Here is how to get your PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) from ParentShield:
- Text: Text "PAC" to 65075 from the ParentShield phone. ParentShield will seek authorisation from the account holder before releasing the code, so a child cannot port the number out without the parent knowing.
- Phone: Call ParentShield on 0330 122 1180.
- Live chat: Use the live chat on the ParentShield website or in the Portal.
On Roam Stage SIMs the account closes when a PAC is used or when it expires, even if unused. On other plans, an unused PAC simply lapses and the account carries on as normal.
2. Order a SIM only deal from Talkmobile
If you have not ordered yet, compare current Talkmobile SIM only deals below.
If you already have your new SIM, continue to Step 3.
If Talkmobile asks for your PAC code during checkout, enter it there. If not, wait for your new SIM or eSIM to activate, then give Talkmobile the PAC code using the method below.
Talkmobile does not run a credit check, so there is nothing to wait for during sign-up.
Talkmobile offers eSIMs, so you can switch without waiting for a physical SIM to arrive.
3. Give the PAC code to Talkmobile
Once you have your PAC code, here is how to give it to Talkmobile:
- Online: Enter your PAC code at checkout when you order, or fill in the switch form on Talkmobile's website.
- Phone: Call 5888 from your Talkmobile phone (free) or 0333 304 8064 from any other phone (charges may vary). Support is open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday 9am to 6pm, and Sunday 10am to 5pm.
4. Wait for your number transfer to Talkmobile to complete
Talkmobile will send the transfer request to ParentShield.
Your number should move to your new Talkmobile SIM within 1 to 2 working days.
