All stated costs assume that you will pay your monthly charges via direct debit, unless otherwise stated. Networks that require payment via direct debit may charge you a higher monthly cost if you do not pay via direct debit.
Ofcom-accredited price comparison
SIM Only Finder is accredited by Ofcom, the UK's independent regulator for communications services. Accreditation is awarded to comparison sites that meet Ofcom's standards for accuracy, transparency, and impartiality.
This means the deals you compare here are checked for accuracy, presented without bias toward any network, and reflect the actual cost you would pay. We do not promote deals based on commission earned.
Which networks offer 12 month SIM only contracts?
You'll find deals from Lycamobile, Mozillion, Asda Mobile, iD Mobile, Sky Mobile, O2, Three, Vodafone, Tesco Mobile, Smarty, Giffgaff, and others. Most are MVNOs running on one of the main UK networks. Lycamobile and Mozillion both run on EE. Asda Mobile runs on Vodafone. iD Mobile runs on Three. Sky Mobile runs on O2. The underlying network determines your coverage, so if you already know whether EE, Vodafone, Three, or O2 works best where you are, that's a useful starting point.
Do I need a credit check on a 12 month SIM only contract?
Not always. Lycamobile, Mozillion, and Asda Mobile all offer no credit check options at this contract length. iD Mobile and Sky Mobile both require one, which is worth knowing given Sky currently has the cheapest deal on the page. If a poor credit history is a concern, use the no credit check filter above, or browse our no credit check SIM only deals page for a broader view across all contract lengths.
Which 12 month SIM only deal is worth your money right now?
Sky Mobile at £1.00 a month is the pick on headline price: 1GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts, 5G, and data rollover, on O2. That works out at £12.00 across the year. Read the promotional pricing section below before you sign up, and note that Sky runs a credit check.
If you want more than 1GB, Lycamobile at £4.50 a month is the better buy: 5GB, 1000 minutes, 1000 texts, 5G, and no credit check, on EE. Mozillion matches that price with 3GB and unlimited minutes and texts, also on EE, with EU roaming included and no credit check, so it comes down to whether you want the extra data or the unlimited calls. Asda Mobile has 3GB at £5.00 a month on Vodafone with unlimited minutes and texts, free EU roaming, and no credit check.
For heavier use, iD Mobile gives you 15GB with unlimited minutes and texts for £6.00 a month on Three, with free EU roaming. Before committing to any 12 month contract, it's worth understanding how mid-contract price rises work, as some networks reserve the right to increase your monthly cost during the term.
Watch out for promotional pricing
Two deals on this page use promotional pricing. Sky Mobile's 1GB plan is advertised at £1.00 a month on a 12 month minimum term. It is subject to a credit check, and Sky states that the data plan price may increase during the minimum term. Lycamobile's 10GB plan charges £3.00 for the first month and £6.00 from month two, so the headline price is not what you'll pay for eleven of the twelve months. With any promotional deal, compare the total cost across the full term rather than relying on the lowest advertised monthly figure.
Can I get an eSIM on a 12 month SIM only contract?
Yes, though not every network supports them. Sky Mobile, Lycamobile, Mozillion, Asda Mobile, and iD Mobile all have eSIM-compatible deals at this contract length. Use the eSIM filter above to narrow things down, or compare the full range on our eSIM deals page. If you're not sure whether your phone supports eSIM, our guide to what an eSIM is and which UK networks support them is a good starting point.
Does 5G come as standard on 12 month SIM only deals?
Yes. Whether you can actually access it depends on your handset and where you live. EE and Vodafone have strong 5G coverage in most major UK cities, Three's footprint is still growing in some rural areas, and O2 reaches most cities though independent testing has consistently put its speeds behind the other three. Our network coverage guide is worth a look if you want to compare before committing to a year.
12 month vs 24 month vs 30 day: which is right for you?
A 12 month deal balances cost and flexibility better than the alternatives for most people. You'll typically pay a pound or two less per month than an equivalent 30 day plan, and you're only tied in for a year rather than two. A 24 month SIM only deal will usually save you a little more each month, but you're committing for longer. A 30 day SIM only deal gives you maximum flexibility with no long term commitment, though you'll pay noticeably more per month for the same allowance.
How we rank 12 month SIM only deals
By default, deals are sorted by lowest monthly price. You can change the sort order at any time using the controls above the listings and filter by data allowance, contract length, minutes, and eSIM availability. All deals shown are updated automatically. SIM Only Finder is an Ofcom-accredited UK mobile comparison site and earns a commission on deals taken out via our links. This does not affect how deals are ranked.
