What network does 1pMobile run on?

1pMobile runs on EE. It is an MVNO, a virtual operator that rents EE's network, so coverage and speeds are the same as you would get from EE directly, including 5G. The one exception is the unlimited plan, where a fair use policy allows 1pMobile to slow speeds at busy locations if you use more than 500GB in a month.

Do I need a credit check on a 1pMobile SIM only contract?

Can I use a 1pMobile SIM in the EU?

Yes, and this is one of 1pMobile's best features. EU roaming is included on all plans across 46 European destinations, including Switzerland, which several networks exclude. The catch is a 14GB monthly cap: excess data abroad is charged at 1p a MB, which sounds cheap but works out at roughly £10 per GB, so treat 14GB as your real allowance abroad whatever the size of your plan. What about 1pMobile's pay as you go tariff?

Alongside the monthly plans, 1pMobile runs the tariff it is named after: 1p per minute, 1p per text and 1p per MB of data, with a minimum top-up requirement to keep the account active. For very light users who make occasional calls and barely touch data, it is close to unbeatable. For anyone who uses data regularly it is the wrong choice, because 1p a MB works out at around £10 per GB.
