This guide explains how to switch from Talk Home to Vodafone and keep your mobile number.
Most number transfers complete within 1 to 2 working days once Vodafone has your PAC code.
If you want a new number instead, text STAC to 75075 and give the code to Vodafone.
This switch will take you from EE's network to Vodafone's network. Coverage may differ in some areas. Check Vodafone's coverage checker before switching.

To keep your number, request a PAC code from Talk Home and give it to Vodafone.
You can usually give Vodafone your PAC code when you order, or after your new SIM card or eSIM has been activated.
1. Request a PAC code from Talk Home
Switching from Talk Home and keeping your current phone number is easy. You don't need to memorise a new number or update all your contacts!
Here is how to get your PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) from Talk Home:
- Text "PAC" to 65075 from your Talk Home phone. You will get a text with your code. This is a free service from Ofcom (the UK's communications regulator).
- Phone: Call 579 from your Talk Home phone. Their customer support team will help you get your PAC code.
- Online: Log in to your Talk Home account online. Go to the "Porting" section and click on "Porting Out" to get your PAC code.
Requesting a PAC does not cancel anything. Your Talk Home plan carries on as normal until the code is used, and if you never use it, it simply expires after 30 days.
The text with your PAC will also show any early exit fees you would pay or credit you would lose by switching, so check it before you hand the code over.
2. Order a SIM only deal from Vodafone
If you have not ordered yet, compare current Vodafone SIM only deals below.
If you already have your new SIM, continue to Step 3.
If Vodafone asks for your PAC code during checkout, enter it there. If not, wait for your new SIM or eSIM to activate, then give Vodafone the PAC code using the method below.
Most Vodafone plans charge a daily fee for EU roaming, with inclusive roaming reserved for higher tiers, so check the plan before you order.
Vodafone offers eSIMs, so you can switch without waiting for a physical SIM to arrive.
3. Give the PAC code to Vodafone
Once you have your PAC code, here is how to give it to Vodafone:
- Online: Enter your PAC code at checkout when you order, or fill in Vodafone's number transfer form once your new SIM is active.
- Phone: Call 191 from your Vodafone phone or 0333 304 0191 from any other phone.
- In-store: Visit a Vodafone store and a member of staff will transfer your number using your PAC code.
4. Wait for your number transfer to Vodafone to complete
Vodafone will send the transfer request to Talk Home.
Your number should move to your new Vodafone SIM within 1 to 2 working days.
