This guide explains how to switch from ParentShield to Talk Home and keep your mobile number.
Most number transfers complete within 1 to 2 working days once Talk Home has your PAC code.
If you want a new number instead, text STAC to 75075 and give the code to Talk Home.
ParentShield and Talk Home both run on EE's network, so your coverage will not change when you switch. You are changing provider, but your signal will still use the same network.

To keep your number, request a PAC code from ParentShield and give it to Talk Home.
You can usually give Talk Home your PAC code when you order, or after your new SIM card or eSIM has been activated.
1. Request a PAC code from ParentShield
Here is how to get your PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) from ParentShield:
- Text: Text "PAC" to 65075 from the ParentShield phone. ParentShield will seek authorisation from the account holder before releasing the code, so a child cannot port the number out without the parent knowing.
- Phone: Call ParentShield on 0330 122 1180.
- Live chat: Use the live chat on the ParentShield website or in the Portal.
On Roam Stage SIMs the account closes when a PAC is used or when it expires, even if unused. On other plans, an unused PAC simply lapses and the account carries on as normal.
2. Order a SIM only deal from Talk Home
If you have not ordered yet, compare current SIM only deals below.
If you already have your new SIM, continue to Step 3.
If Talk Home asks for your PAC code during checkout, enter it there. If not, wait for your new SIM or eSIM to activate, then give Talk Home the PAC code using the method below.
Talk Home specialises in international calling, with international minutes to around 50 destinations included on its bigger plans.
3. Give the PAC code to Talk Home
Once you have your PAC code, follow these steps to give it to Talk Home:
- Phone: Call 579 from your Talk Home phone. Their customer support team will help you get your PAC code.
- Online: Give Talk Home your PAC code via your account area.
Talk Home will then handle the transfer of your number. Give them your PAC code within 30 days of receiving it — after that it expires and you will need to request a new one from ParentShield.
4. Wait for your number transfer to Talk Home to complete
Talk Home will send the transfer request to ParentShield.
Your number should move to your new Talk Home SIM within 1 to 2 working days.
