Vodafone Increasing Annual SIM Only and Mobile Prices: What Does It All Mean?

Vodafone Increasing Annual SIM Only and Mobile Prices: What Does It All Mean?

Last Updated: 18th November 2025, 08:22

Another week, another headline announcing price hikes for customers. It seems that annual price hikes are nothing new in the mobile phone industry. This time, Vodafone has announced mid-contract price increases for new customers from April 2026. The network made the announcement about the changes to broadband and SIM-only price rises on November 7, 2025. If you want to know more about these annual price rises, the team here at SIM Only Finder has put together this handy guide on all the important points.

How Is Vodafone Increasing Its Annual Prices?

From November 12, 2025, new or upgrading Vodafone customers will be subject to the following mid-contract price increases on services:

  • Vodafone Mobile SIM-only Basics: £1.50 per month annually (up from £1 on the old policy)
  • All other Vodafone SIM-only products, handset airtime, mobile broadband: £2.50 per month annually (up from £1.80 on the old policy)

Customers who take out a broadband deal will face the following increase from April 2026:

  • Home Broadband and Business Broadband: £3.50 per month annually (up from £3 on the old policy)

What Does This Mean For SIM-Only Customers?

Here at SIM Only Finder, our focus is on what these increases mean for Vodafone’s SIM-only customers. Unlike other recent price increases that have been announced by networks like O2 that affect existing customers, Vodafone’s increases will only impact new SIM-only customers. Those who already have a plan in place with Vodafone will see their bills increase by the pre-agreed amount stated when the deal was taken out.

Who Will Be Affected?

Existing Vodafone SIM-only customers won’t be affected by the announced price increases. The price hikes only apply to customers who are taking out new contracts or those who are re-contracting from November 12, 2025. If you are a new Vodafone customer, it’s important to check which mid-contract rises apply to you to ensure you are not stung by unexpected bill increases.

Why Is Vodafone Increasing Its Prices?

At the start of 2025, Ofcom made changes to how telecoms providers approached mid-contract price rises. It stated that price hikes need to be clearly set out in “pounds and pence.” This was a bid to make price rises more transparent for customers, but not necessarily cheaper.

Annual price increases are standard practice across the mobile and broadband industry, so these Vodafone changes are not unexpected.

According to the mobile network giant, it makes changes to its price plans so it can continue to make investments in its network and the products and services it offers to provide a better service to customers.

A spokesperson for Vodafone said of the changes: “We know no one likes price rises, but they are essential for us to keep investing, innovating and providing best-in-class service. This year, we launched Just Ask Once which means one specialist owns your query in the My Vodafone app and keeps you updated until it’s sorted. While VeryMe Rewards in the app continues to bring weekly treats, discounts and prize draws. There are no price increases for customers registered as financially vulnerable or those on our social tariffs.”

With price rises being a common occurrence, it’s more important than ever to shop around to ensure you’re getting the best SIM-only deals. Here at SIM Only Finder, we have all the tools you need to compare deals so you won’t be left out of pocket.
