Lycamobile has confirmed a price freeze on its pay monthly SIM-only plans for 2026, making it one of a small number of UK networks choosing not to pass on annual price increases to customers this April.
The announcement follows a similar commitment made by Lycamobile in 2025, and comes as most of the UK's major networks prepare to raise prices for in-contract customers from April 1. Lycamobile, which runs on EE's network in the UK, said its approach was intended to stop mid-contract price rises and hidden fees from affecting pay monthly customers.
Prem Sivasamy, Deputy Chairman of Lycamobile, said the network has never increased prices mid-contract since launching its pay monthly products, and that the 2026 freeze continues that commitment.
Which networks are freezing prices in 2026?
Lycamobile joins a short list of networks holding prices steady this year. Spusu has committed to no price rises in 2026, which is the third consecutive year it has made that commitment. Tesco Mobile freezes prices for customers on Clubcard Price deals for the duration of their minimum term, though non-Clubcard plans do increase each April. Honest Mobile goes further still, reducing prices by up to 5% per year the longer you stay.
By contrast, EE, O2, Three, and Vodafone are all applying increases in April 2026, with some customers facing rises of up to £2.50 per month. Sky Mobile raised prices by £1.50 per month in February 2026. For a full breakdown of which networks are rising and by how much, see our guide to SIM-only mid-contract price rises.
Is Lycamobile worth switching to?
Lycamobile runs on EE's network, which RootMetrics has ranked as the most reliable UK mobile network consistently since 2020. Plans start from a low monthly price and no credit check is required to sign up. If price stability is a priority and you are not tied to a specific network, it is worth comparing current Lycamobile SIM-only deals alongside other networks committing to price freezes this year.
With April price rises now days away for millions of UK mobile customers, the timing of Lycamobile's announcement gives anyone considering a switch a clear alternative to networks that are raising costs.
