This guide explains how to switch from Grade Mobile to Giffgaff and keep your mobile number.
Most number transfers complete within 1 to 2 working days once Giffgaff has your PAC code.
If you want a new number instead, text STAC to 75075 and give the code to Giffgaff.
This switch will take you from EE's network to O2's network. Coverage may differ in some areas. Check Giffgaff's coverage checker before switching.

To keep your number, request a PAC code from Grade Mobile and give it to Giffgaff.
You can usually give Giffgaff your PAC code when you order, or after your new SIM card or eSIM has been activated.
1. Request a PAC code from Grade Mobile
Here is how to get your PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) from Grade Mobile:
- Text: Text "PAC" to 65075 from your Grade Mobile phone. You will get a text back with your code within a minute. This is a free service from Ofcom (the UK's communications regulator).
- Online: Ask for your PAC code via Grade Mobile's online contact form or by emailing contact@grademobile.co.uk.
- Phone: Call Grade Mobile on 0808 175 2343.
2. Order a SIM only deal from Giffgaff
If you have not ordered yet, compare current Giffgaff SIM only deals below.
If you already have your new SIM, continue to Step 3.
If Giffgaff asks for your PAC code during checkout, enter it there. If not, wait for your new SIM or eSIM to activate, then give Giffgaff the PAC code using the method below.
Giffgaff does not offer phone support, so manage everything through the app or community forum.
Giffgaff does not run a credit check, so there is nothing to wait for during sign-up.
Giffgaff offers eSIMs, so you can switch without waiting for a physical SIM to arrive.
3. Give the PAC code to Giffgaff
Once you have your PAC code, here is how to give it to Giffgaff:
- Activate your Giffgaff SIM first: Your Giffgaff SIM must be active before you can transfer a number to it.
- Submit your PAC: Go to the number transfer page in your Giffgaff account, enter your PAC code and pick your transfer day.
Expect intermittent service on both SIMs until around 9pm on the transfer day. Requests made on weekends or bank holidays are processed the next working day. Giffgaff does not offer phone support.
4. Wait for your number transfer to Giffgaff to complete
Giffgaff will send the transfer request to Grade Mobile.
Your number should move to your new Giffgaff SIM within 1 to 2 working days.
