Compare travel eSIM plans for the United Arab Emirates, with prices updated daily. We compare plans from Airalo, Breeze, KnowRoaming, and Land&Go by Mozillion, and we are adding more providers. This page includes UAE-only plans plus Middle East and global plans that cover the UAE, so you can pick the option that suits a holiday in Dubai, a stopover, or a trip that continues elsewhere in the Middle East.
We may earn a commission if you buy a travel eSIM through our links. This does not affect how deals are ranked.
Features are shown where confirmed by the provider.
Plan prices, data allowances, validity, and features come from retailer feeds and are refreshed daily. Plans are sorted by lowest price by default, and you can sort or filter by data, trip length, coverage type, and provider. We may earn a commission when you buy through our links, but this does not change the order plans appear in.
The guidance below was checked against provider terms in October 2026. You can compare other destinations on our travel eSIM hub.
Airalo charges in US dollars. We show an approximate price in pounds using a daily exchange rate, so the amount on your statement may differ slightly. Your card provider may also add a fee for paying in a foreign currency.
Many visits to the UAE are short, such as a stopover or a long weekend in Dubai. For a 2 to 3 day stopover, 1GB to 3GB is usually enough. For a week with maps, messaging, social media, and ride-hailing apps such as Careem and Uber, 5GB to 10GB covers most people.
Free Wi-Fi is widely available in malls, hotels, and on the Dubai Metro, which can stretch a smaller plan. If you are visiting other Gulf countries on the same trip, the Middle East plans on this page cover several countries on one eSIM. Check the country list before you buy, because not every Middle East plan includes the UAE.
The UAE is outside the European roaming zones included in most UK plans, so using your UK SIM there usually means a daily charge or pay as you go rates. Check what your network charges before you travel in our roaming guides.
The UAE has two main mobile networks: e& (formerly Etisalat) and du. Virgin Mobile UAE runs on du's network. Travel eSIMs usually run on e& or du. You can check which network a plan uses in the plan details on the provider's site.
Coverage is strong across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and the main roads between the emirates, including in most malls and metro stations. Signal can be weaker in the open desert, so expect gaps on desert safaris and drives into remote areas.
Tourist SIMs from du and e& are available at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports, and you need your passport to register one. Some arrivals at Dubai airport have been offered a free du tourist SIM with a small data allowance.
A local SIM gives you a UAE number, which can help with some local services. A travel eSIM avoids the airport counter and works as soon as you land, which suits a short stopover.
The UAE restricts internet calls on many apps, including WhatsApp and FaceTime audio and video calls. WhatsApp messages work normally. Zoom and Microsoft Teams generally work for calls, and Botim is a licensed calling app that needs a paid subscription. These rules can apply whichever SIM or eSIM you use, so do not rely on internet calls to keep in touch.
Buy the plan and install the eSIM profile before you travel, while you are on reliable Wi-Fi, using the QR code or the provider app. Check when the plan's validity starts: most start when the eSIM first connects in the UAE, but some start on install. Follow the provider's instructions on when to switch the line on.
After arriving, turn on the eSIM line, set it as your data line, and turn on data roaming for the eSIM line. Most travel eSIMs will not connect without it. Turn off data roaming on your UK line so your UK network does not charge you for data.
If there is no connection after a minute, switch airplane mode on and off once. You can keep your UK line on for calls and texts on your usual number, but calls and texts received abroad may still be charged by your UK network. If you are not sure your phone supports eSIM, check our eSIM compatibility guide before you buy.
Some travel eSIMs connect only to e& or only to du. If you have no signal after landing, check that the eSIM line is set to choose a network automatically.
Answers to common questions about using a travel eSIM in the United Arab Emirates.
Do not count on it. The UAE restricts WhatsApp and FaceTime calls, and these restrictions can apply on any SIM or eSIM. WhatsApp messages work normally, and Zoom and Microsoft Teams generally work for calls.
For 1 to 3 days, 1GB to 3GB is usually enough, especially as most hotels, malls, and the airport offer free Wi-Fi.
Mostly near camps and main roads, but signal can drop in the open desert. Your driver will usually have a local connection if you need help.
Yes, if you choose a Middle East or global plan that covers each country on your trip. Not every Middle East plan includes the UAE, so check the country list before you buy.
Most travel eSIMs are data only and do not include a UAE number. Keep your UK line on if you need to receive calls and texts, and check your UK network's charges first.
